ACT 1.

Scene 2

Scene: After walking for several miles, he arrives at Inops, a desert near the Land of Wildomar.

Enter Maslow, Clotho, and Diotima.

Maslow: (Starting to grow weary, he bends down to pick up a small stone from the ground and places it in his palm, meditating on its nature). Smooth, hard, ageless, silent. Curious how it all fits in, prophecies what guides this hand?

Clotho: To fulfill a promise if they’re called, one must remain committed to find out!

(Alarmed by the response, he swiftly releases the stone as it hurtles back to the ground. Scuttling backwards, scanning each direction attempting to identify where the sound may have came from, seeing nobody there, but the stone on the ground, a peculiar cactus with an array of dazzling sapphire flowers blooming from its crown a few feet away, and the tail of a lizard that had quickly dashed offed into the bushes when the stone came crashing down near his head).

Maslow: Who’s there? Again is that you Sophia appearing from nowhere to instruct me once more?

Clotho: (Speaking to him in a voice he can hear, but from a body he cannot see). Apocalyptic they repeat like song, as if no other word could be found. From where you stand, if you keep on walking you will reach a desert temple. Enter through the door should you desire more of what you’re after.

The Chorus: Guides of all shapes and sizes, there to lend him what he misses!
